From Idea to Execution Henrik Peitz_3 MatHem 2020

MatHem is Sweden’s largest online grocery store, with > 1 700 employees. In his speech, COO Henrik Peitz, will share how MatHem went from idea to execution in doubling their operations in a few months, while keeping full focus on sustainability. Opening a new warehouse in record time, 4 weeks, with an Astro WMS® installation based on customer demand in Stockholm and by the end of the year triple their capacity in Gothenburg. Through initiatives such as using route optimization to reduce emissions, installing solar panels on their new warehouse roof (coming 2022), and reducing food waste such as securing cold chain of food until customer doorstep, MatHem has positioned themselves as the number one choice for sustainable grocery home delivery.

6 became 1

In May of 2019 Norwegian retail chain Europris opened its new central  warehouse in Moss, the third largest warehouse ever built in Norway. By consolidating 6 different warehouses into one gigantic centrally located and automated distribution center Europris have increased efficiency and shortened lead times. In addition, improved sustainability has been an important part of the project, with internal transports reduced to zero and diminishing the company’s CO2 footprint.

Arne Andersen, PostNord

The fight against shipping airArne

As e-commerce customers we have all experienced it: opening a big box and finding it filled with packaging material and a small product in one corner. Not very sustainable, to say the least. In 2018 the Nordic postal service PostNord started the initiative “Förpackningsresan” (the package journey) to bring attention to the fact that 30 % of today’s transports consists of unnecessary air. Arne Andersson, E-commerce Advisor at PostNord tells the story of how supply chain and warehouses must combine e-commerce and sustainability to meet the pressures from the consumers.

We would like to thank all partners that were initially planned to attend this event.
